Hi I got a auction buy from a rental company, Got it home and figured out has a bad cylinder. I got a low hr generator motor for replacement. need to change front cover and oil pan. but wondering if i need to change out fuel pump and governor or can I adjust to work correctly without digging into that stuff?

Most likely you will need to change the governor assembly.
The fuel pump is the same.
Make sure you keep the fuel injection pump shims under injection pump with the block it on as that sets the timing.
It does not move with the fuel injection pump.
