The snow plow attachment I have has given me problems since purchasing it. The problem is the plow won’t go up or down when pushing the button. I Just replaced to relay switch again, which I was hoping would fix the problem but it didn’t. Anyone have any clue how or why I would have this problem? Or how to fix it, got snow coming! Thanks!

Have you checked for power at the switch?
Where are you getting your power from?
Fused?
Given you problems suggest that it works at least part of the time, has it ever worked?
Does it only not work on the remote switch?

It has work a number of times without issues. It only has the remote switch to go up or down.

I’m not positive where the power is coming from. I don’t believe there’s a fuse for it. I’ve taken the switch out and replugged it in. I’ve switched the relay.

In the past, my buddy stuck a metal wire in the relay and I’m not sure what that does but the plow started working after that. But not anymore.

I’m honestly not too knewledge in this area but am a quick learner. If there’s anyhing you know that I could do, please share!

You will have to follow the wire back to its source of power. This is important because it may be tied into an accessory, my friends was tied into his high beams. Or you blew a fuse, but you will need to check voltage at the switch. If you think its the relay , I would check it’s ground.

Again power to the switch is #1

Okay so the wires trace back to what I’m assuming is the battery, I only say assuming because I traced it to under the seat where the battery is. There is a fuse on the power supply wire that I just replaced but still not power to the plow.

Do you have a test light or voltage meter? You need to think of it like a water flow problem and locate the blockage.

Assuming it is connected to the battery then start at the fuse and see if you have 12 volts there. If so move to the switch and see if you have voltage at the switch on the in side. Then see if you have power out when switch is on and goes away when switch is off. Switch several times to see if the switch is always working.

Since you mentioned a relay then verify that you get power to the inlet side of it (I assume you understand why the relay is there and that the switch operates the relay). Then see if you have power to the outlet side when switch is on and none when switch is off.

If you can, try to verify that the connections are clean at connections between the wiring and tractor. It is common that a bad connection creates intermittent problems.
