Hi,

I'm new to Kubota and this forum. I have 04 B7800 with a belly mower and have a question. The manual says the PTO should be at ~2500 RPM when using the mower. Must I run the tractor at 2500 RPM when operating the mower? Can I run it at 1800-2000 RPM if I get good cutting results?

Thanks.

I mow @ 2000 rpm with my B2400 with 60" MMM, but then I also don't let my grass get real tall over mowed height either. I mow once a week usually, and the heaviest grass is usually over the septic lines, and even then it doesn't usually bog down unless I try and rush thru it in high range.

if the grass is real heavy ( or I let the wife mow ) I'll mow in low range.

The dealer told the OL to run it wide open when mowing,,,, I keep waiting for little pieces to start flying all over the place

I have a B3200 with a 60" MMM. I still have less than 50hrs on it and have been keeping the rpm's below 2000. I've had great results mowing average height grass in the 1800-1850 rpm range. Low vibration and a good cut without bogging down the engine
