Hello all, long time lurker, first post, great site.
I have an L2800 I purchased last year with 200 hours on it. I intend to use it this winter to blow snow, assuming we get some this year. It currently has 250 hours on it and I am about to change the engine oil. I found Rotella-6 0W30 locally and picked up a couple of jugs on sale. I really want to go synthetic but am unsure if the 0W30 is ok?
Thanks in advance,
Sparx

Read the back of the jugs and see if its formulated for diesels. I wasn't aware of a OW30 oil was produced from Rotell. I run 15W40 in mine and its safe for gas and diesel.

Check that the oil has a "C" rating such as "CI","CJ". If it is only a "S" rated then it isn't formulated for diesels. Amsoil makes a 5/40 synthetic that is diesel rated.
