I went out to look at a local 6' flail for sale. Guy said it was in good shape. Aside from some normal expected surface rust and grime it checked out well. Everything turned straight and true. The knives looked a bit rusted as it sat for a while they appeared fine.
He also had another of the same model but a bit older (he called it the older one). This one checked out as the first but the sheet metal had some rust through on the top and along the bottom front. I figured a spare for parts or to redo the sheet metal would come in handy.
I drove off with both for $700.

The stickers on them are faded but I see words that say .....1000 rpm.
I cant seem to locate a manual online.

I forgot to ask the seller but do these flails run at 540 pto as bush hogs?

I'm new to orange and this smaller stuff. On the big equipment, 1000 rpm equipment has a 21 spine instead of the 6 spline that 540 rpm uses. So if the PTO shaft has 21 splines where it connects to the tractor, its definitely 1000 rpm

You should try to contact Rhino - They e-mailed me a manual for an old tiller.

There should be some nameplate on the implement that shows the model number and serial number. That will help them identify the proper manual.

It's definitely a 6 spline. I went through it and regreased, changed the gear oil, checked the belt and put it to work. Worked great. Cut my field grass almost as good as my zero turn. Tractor is much more comfortable to ride than the ZT too.
It runs smooth at 540.
Going hit it with the sand blaster in a few areas then put some new paint on it.
