Replacing the battery after a long winter, but cannot seem to get the hold down bar on correctly. Not sure where to secure the 2 side bars? There are holes on the floor of the battery compartment that seem sensible, but the bars are too long.
Thanks

Did you buy the same size battery?

I am not familiar with the tractor but you could cut a board to fit under the battery so that the hold downs would work.

Or cut an old stall mat, maybe 2 or 3 layers to take up the space.

This parts illustration shows where the hold down rods are to go.

The rods go at an angle to pull the battery forward against the stop on the front edge of the battery tray.

If too long, shim up battery or, use stack of washers or pieces of tubing between the hold down nut and hold down bar.
