Hi,

I bought my BX2200 last year with 1,000 hrs but no service history and am working through all of the regular service items.

Just about the last one to go is the fuel filter. In the operator's manual this is 'dealer only'. Although it looks like a simple inline filter it's not clear to me how I cut of the fuel flow.

Any advice on this and more generally on doing this job? Not clear to me why it's dealer only so I'm a little worried I'm missing something!

Many thanks,
Tom

That's great - thanks.

Out of interest, do you know why there are two fuel filters?

It is much easier to get to the fuel filter(s) if the engine cowling is taken off. Just a few easily accessible small bolts is all that holds the cowl on.

Why there are two on the same line is a mystery. However, they are so cheap that it is not a problem.

I use needle nose locking pliers to pinch the fuel line between the tank and the first filer. There are special pliers made for the task but locking pliers work just fine.

Thanks. Good tip on the locking pliers.

Pretty much the first thing I did when I got my tractor home was take off the engine cowl and have a good look. Compared with some cars I've worked on it's a real pleasure to be able to get at nearly everything without needing treble jointed wrists.
