I am looking for recommendations for oil psi and water temp gauges - some that you have used. I installed 2 Sunpro gauges and both failed within 4 mths.

I now have two 2" holes  in my dash that need filling.

Mechanical or electric are both ok with me.

Not looking to spend allot of $$.
I know that others have posted on OTT but \I an getting to many hits to filter through, allot having nothing to do with what I am looking for.

Thanks for any and all replies.:)

P.S. Open station and lives outside sometimes. Water resistant or waterproof needed.

Perhaps an electrical "Digital" gauge, generally the vibration is what kills them, electrical sender removes a lot of components, digital gauge removes a lot more mechanical components, cheap for a trial, something similar to this, perhaps silicone the components in the back of the gauge before use.

Only issue I could see with digital gauges is the lcd displays tend to freeze and not register in extreme cold.

I'm partial to a good ol fashioned mechanical gauge for temperature my self.

How about getting gauges and sending units from a harley or chopper shop. Gauges have to be able to handle quite a bit of vibration :D

By the looks of it, the gauges that he has fitted are Sunpro and have failed.
"LED" gauges should not be affected by cold, and he already has one for Volts.
However, I'm not saying the ones I listed are any good, and they may fall apart just as quickly!
If you silicone or glue (neutral cure) the boards in place and seal the glass you may get more life out of them, who knows!

Thanks everyone for your replies and sorry for taking so long to reply back. I would like to stay away from the Sunpro gauges. They are what I originally installed and failed in about 4 mths. I talked with three different suppliers of the Sunpro gauges and they all said that a bad batch of gauges had been produced. I got my 2 gauges from different distributes because neither had both in stock.

Hokie, how long have you had yours installed? I also got mine from Amazon. Because of all the trouble they have had with the Sunpro gauges they immediately offered a full refund or another set. I took the refund.

The digital voltage is inaccurate but it is consistently of by the same amount so I can live with that.

When I installed the gauges, I put an O ring between the gauge and the dash, silicon ed the back and around the glass. Also, all electrical connections were soldered and heat shrunk. I tried to cover all the bases.

Thanks again and all responses welcome.:)

I have had good luck with the stuff I buy at surpluscenter.com. When I order from them, I always buy a couple Vbelts, cause they are so cheap... They also know how to pack a box, they use the smallest box that will hold the order, and use only 1 box, generally...:D
