Just broke the bank and went out and bought a new BX 2370 to upgrade from my old Case 444. Can anyone tell me if the old Case hydraulic rototiller
can be run by the Kubota? I think the Case has an 8gpm system while the
Kubota a 6gpm system? Thanks for any information.

Might run slower, what you need to know is the system operating pressure and GPM, on the tiller and tractor. Then go to surpluscenter.com's page on Hydraulic formulae, and compare the 2. If It's only small difference, I'd try it, and see how much slower it turns. Hyd motors can get pretty pricey, And I wouldn't change,if I could drop a gear range, and get the same performance...:D

I did the same thing, sold a Case 444 and Case 646 to get my BX2660. As you know, it was hard to get the 444 to go slow enough with the slow turning Case tiller (around 120-135 RPM at the tines). The BX's lower volume hydraulic system would slow the tiller down even more. I felt it would be nearly useless at that point and sold the tiller with the 646.

You can turn up the pressure a bit from 1700 psi to about 2000 psi, but you cannot change the flow!!! The HST will allow you to go very slow especially in low range, but you will never know till you try!

Another option would be to run a PTO powered pump, but then because of the expense of it, you might as well just get a new PTO powered Rototiller to match the tractors ability. ;)

I've got an ace in hole Patrick. I didn't sell the 444. Part of the deal to get the Kubota was to get rid of all my Case stuff. I think I now have an excuse to keep it. Once I show my wife the prices on a new rototiller, I think she might see the other side of the coin.

You could always replace the 444 with a bigger Kubota that will run your tiller. Just tell the wife you're going to need another tractor to till with. If you say it real fast it might work.

I have to apologize about the original info I provided. When I went back
to talk with the dealer I decided to upgrade to a BX 2370. That does qualify as a bigger tractor, doesn't it? I'm happy I did upgrade and my wife had
no problem with the additional money spent. Best of both worlds.
