Some land planes come with rear facing blades and some don't even have mounting holes for them.

Never having used a land plane, I can imagine situations where i might go in reverse (corners in parking area).

How useful is that feature ? If nothing else, you have 2 spare blades.

The models with rear facing blades are designed that way so they can be use with the implement mounted on the front, like on the loader or a skid steer.

I have rear blades on my Land Pride GS1572. I use it as much in reverse as going forward.
