I was looking at my B5100e which has been sitting at the back of my garage and I notice that there was a small wet patch on the floor. The liquid has been coming out of the radiator expansion pipe. Now the B5100e does not have an expansion tank or any recovery system just a sort of drain off pipe. I have not started the tractor for about 6 months as it has been stored over winter at the back off my garage. I have kept the battery charged. I am just a confused as to why fluid would be coming out? My garage is not heated and here in the UK it does not get cold like you guys in the USA. So I cannot work why anything would be coming out? Unless there is something strange happening maybe some kind of chemical reaction?

I have a "new to me" B5100E and in the days before they added overflow bottles on cars and trucks you simply didn't fill the radiator to the top and left room for expansion;) Just make sure the tops of the tubes are covered.:D

Since the weather is warming, finally, the coolant is expanding slightly.

It's possible your radiator cap needs replaced, I think it's rated at 3 pounds but check for sure. It's a common radiator cap so you don't need to get it at the dealer, I got mine at TSC:rolleyes:
Our B5100's were produced between 1978 and 1984 so spring for a new cap:p
