I guess my first question would be, "What is wrong and why does it need to be adjusted"?

Is the brake pedal going to the floor when the pedal is depressed?

Are you unable to get it to release?

Does the locking lever on the left floorboard not work or catch at the wrong place?

Do you want the parking brake to anchor the tractor so it won't move under any circumstances? (Probably not good for the HST.)

The parking brake is likely a very small, light-duty shoe-type arrangement that is simply for holding the tractor in place from some outside influence. For instance, my 400 gallon water wagon will move the tractor around if the water is sloshing or if on a slope.

One hint that it is a small part is that the tractor can overcome it easily as you point out. Maybe Kubota made it that way to save the HST.

My wife puts the parking brake on each time she uses it and I don't. That often causes me to drive away with the brake on. The HST whines a bit so that is the alert.

Usually Kubota uses turnbuckles for adjustments so locating one of those on the linkage would most likely be the adjustment point. On the other hand, there may not be an adjustment.

Ah...a safety issue.

I can't imagine the BX moving too far with the engine off. You could try blocking the rear tires with a couple of 5 foot, 4x4 fence posts.

That would probably stop the BX from any travel - even when running - if the parking brake was also on. You could try it but don't burn up the HST in an attempt to get it to move.

It is more work but when the safety of the grandkids is a factor there is no reason to cut corners.
