Hey there LRP -

Myself and Service Department Vic are not Kubota dealers. Although we know and love Kubota equipment, we can be a bit critical of them from time to time. For example, we are not happy with how Kubota North America mishandled their whole gray market tractor situation (and continues to do so).

If a Kubota dealer was too critical of the big boss man they would likely see their franchise license revoked or at the very least raise a few eyebrows! All of this being said, I do know that employees of Kubota dealerships frequent the site and certain individuals from Kubota corporate have visited the site in the past. All are welcome here!

You are 100% correct. There is a definite pricing disparity between parts in Canada vs. US. I do have some insight as to why pricing from Kubota dealerships in Canada vs USA is different. Two things:

1) the Canadian dollar - as of late the dollar is near par but the pricing that Kubota Canada pays to Kubota Japan may have been negotiated when the dollar was not so close maybe 1-2 years ago... this leads into...

2) Kubota Canada and Kubota USA are distinct entities and each much negotiate with Kubota Japan for their parts discount. Kubota Canada is much smaller so it has less bargaining power to bring to the table. Parts move slower too and sit in warehouses longer which pushes up pricing on everything that comes out of that dealership. I know of dealers that have millions and millions of dollars of inventory, just sitting, for years on end.

Last I heard was that Kubota Canada's dealers were pushing for fairing pricing when compared to their US counterparts. Customers are not afraid of making purchases on the internet now and its easy to simply email a dealer just across the border to get those more expensive items... for a lot less!

If you are speaking of Arrowwood - that's Alberta, specifically our very own Service Department Vic. He can get you any part that Kubota can! Find his username and then send him a personal message to get a quote and availability.

It's the same in Australia . Freight sometimes makes the deal not
worth doing . Metal is heavy ,and liquids are not freightable......
We're between a rock and a hard-place with regard to using local
sources because if they go belly-up , there's nowhere for heavy
parts and tractor sales . As for price disparity , it's gouging by
the importer , rather than small quantities . I'm in the know with
Toyota , and they make a heap here.
What really annoys me is the way the US is cosseted with good
deals and free credit even though it's a basket-case of debt.
This is why the rest of the world is sick of their complaining
even though they get treated like Gods on the commercial
front . I'd like cheap loans , low taxes , 60-72 months free
credit on a vehicle , low prices on just about everything etc...............

i would be interested in hearing from other people anywhere, to give there
location, and the cost of the reverse gear for the L1500 and the L175 tractor.
i will post a pic of the invoice what i paid for my reverse gear
TIA for participation.
