Anyone ever replaced the pto stub shaft on a 2601? Mine snapped off when the drive shaft came apart. Dealer wants me to bring tractor with tiller still attached before they do anything to see what happened as far as warranty. I figured why bother, they are going to deny it. New shaft is $316. Does not seem like it would be a problem , but I am not sure . Wanted to see if anyone here knows if there are any surprises.

The surprise is, you have to pull the back cover off and drain all the fluid plus you'll most likely have to replace the seal.

The reason the dealer wants to see it is to determine if the root cause.
Did the PTO joint go out breaking the PTO shaft
