I would be very careful with that idea.
You can easily run a 10k generator, but the rpm's are critical to the voltage and the frequency ( 50/60 hz etc). I would want full instruments on the generator for input rpm, and various outputs. There may be too much variability in the governed engine rpm for the generated power to be considered 'clean'.
