ok, i just bought a 3pt hitch snowblower built for reverse pto's like my b6000 has....question is, the shaft to the blower doesnt fit up to my pto, it is bigger than the pto on my tractor, luckily for me, i had a "reducer" ( i think thats what it is called) so i tried that, and while it worked, i could not get the shaft or the reducer to stay onto my pto. I have never hooked anything up to my pto so i am looking for some help as to how to do this. The shaft from the blower does have one of those spring loaded buttons, but it would not hold the reducer.....also, the reducer is now stuck inside the shaft to the blower, and tips on how to get that out? I think i am looking for some really specific help on this, but anything would be appreciated. Thanks

Does the reducer have matching holes? If so, you may have to use a roll pin to hold it on the shaft and the pin may need to be cut to fit so it will allow the blower's pto to slide on. As far as getting it out, you may have to use a puller to get it loose. It shouldn't take much to get it going. It would help if you could post some pictures. Good Luck!

thanks for the response, when you say roll pin, what exactly is that? Also, is using a hammer to get the pto reducer on the pto of the tractor a wise idea? I have not done it, but very tempted, of course i cant now because the reducer is stuck.....

A roll pin is not a solid pin per se. It is a pin that is made of thick sheet steel rolled into a tube shape. that allows the pin to be a slight bit springy that would allow placement that retains itself into position. they are used in places that do not get taken apart often if at all.

More questions, just ask!! we'll share what we know because someone did it for us too.

Don't pound it on. If it won't slide on there is a reason. Find out why, pounding things together frequently results in thing being permanently joined that shouldn't be.

Well, i "manned" up, put the gloves on, braced myself, and did the good ole' fashioned way, i brought the shaft with stuck adapter to the power equipment shop...now naturally the end of the adapter is a bit touched up from me trying to get it out, is it still any good? If not, does anyone know where to get one? Does anyone know what the heck it is? It reduces the size of the pto shaft from the blower so it will fit on my b6000. Hope this wasn't too much info or too many questions....thanks again for the help

ok, update on how i was successful at doing this incase anyone else is in this situation.....First off, the original adapter i had to go from 10 spline to 6 spline ended up getting too nipped up from getting unstuck so i ordered a new one off of ebay......that adapter did not have the groove on it in order for the yoke to attach and secure, so i went to tractor supply and got a 6 spline to 6 spline adapter which had the groove on it in order for the yoke to secure. Now the problem was securing the 10 spline to 6 spline to the tractor pto, then securing the 6 spline to 6 spline to that. I took the 6-6 adapter(which also had holes to put a bolt or pin through), put the 10-6 adapter inside it, used a bit the same size as the hole in the 6-6 adapter, and drilled a hole through the 10-6 adapter, put a roll pin through it, then put the hole contraption onto the tractor pto. Slid on, seemed to work perfectly, and has not fallen off in the little messin around i did on this old icey snow. Hope this all makes sense, because it doesnt to me. Now, just waitin for snow. Thanks for the help and suggestions
