I have a L 275DT. Ever since I bought it 8 years ago the only way to engage the PTO is shut off engine, engage PTO and then re-start. This can't be right and has to be hard on starter and engine. PTO will not dis-engage when clutch pedal is depressed. I fear something is dis-connected inside transmission. Any thoughts??

Thanks...as in the clutch pedal linkage? I have never had a problem dis-engaging the clutch to shift. There appears to be a cable on the left side of the shift housing that is on top of the transmission beneath the steering column. Any idea what it controls?? It never moves when de-clutching or shifting transmission.

I was referring to the "main" clutch adjustment. On my (1982 L245DT), that's the only clutch there is.
I'm not familiar with your model. Perhaps there is a "seperate" clutch for the PTO, that works in conjunction with the main clutch?
Hopefully Ed or Vic will have an answer.

Adjusted clutch linkage today and viola!! finally can disengage PTO. Cable I referred to goes from the 2 speed linkage to the sheetmetal housing that covers the transmission and which the shifting levers go through. Can't figure out it's function. Thanks for the help.
