I have a 4060LE and want to have the pto engaged when I am off tractor to use wand sprayer which is pto driven. Is there a way to do this other than 'cheating' the seat safety switch.

I believe if you place your tractor in neutral you can get off the seat with the pto engaged.
You must also tip the seat forward as soon as you leave it.

There should be a specific procedure for your model. You may have to check the Owner Manual for the specifics. For mine, getting off the seat with the PTO engaged does NOT work no matter how fast you are. I believe the procedure for mine is fairly common so it may be worth trying.

1) Transmission (or range selector if HST) in neutral.
2) Lock brakes.
3) Flip seat forward (obviously you have to get off to do that).
4) If engine not running, start the engine.
5) Engage PTO.
6) Set throttle to desired position.

Half the time the most difficult part is knowing the phrase to look for.

From the L4060 Operators Manual the phrase is "STATIONARY PTO."

On my old BX I thought this didn't work. I finally worked out the seat switch that detects the seat is tilted up was sticky, pushing it with my finger made it recognise the seat was tilted, and then it worked.

I believe the stationary PTO switch was one of the items Kubota left off the LE versions of the 3560 and 4060 models. I have a 3560 I am waiting on to be delivered. I understand the wiring and connector are there, but not the switch. I plan to purchase the switch to restore the function on my tractor once I get it. Check with your dealer or with Messick's.

I had no idea you could get a limited edition of the 4060...thought it was just the 3560....
