I just bought a 02 M6800 C/H/A 2wd,manual shuttle w/1900 hrs.I am using it in my hay operation. This is the roughest riding little tractor i have ever been on.Could the cab mounts be worn out causing rough ride or do all of them do this? The clutch is pretty hard to push also.
Pros:Best A/C cooling out of my other 4 tractor cabs.sweet running engine.

We purchased a 2001 M6800 C/H/A, 4WD, FEL with 1850hrs last year and ours rides rough as well. We plan on replacing the seat as we believe the suspension is gone. One thing that did improve the ride was removing the FEL bucket when not needed. The clutch is also a little hard and wears on the knee when working for an extended period of time.

However, she runs great and we are not interested in trading. She runs great!

I've got an 2012 M7040 and it rides rough also compared to my JD 6420 but it also weighs half as much and is shorter. I dropped my rear tires to 14-15 lbs. and my fronts to 24 lbs. (Front wheel assist) and it rides much softer now. It came new with 20 in the rears and 30 in the fronts and it would literly beat you to death.

Comparing the ride of a 65 pto hp tractor to a 90 pto hp tractor isn't exactly comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges. Look at it this way when the electrical solenoids/switches on your JD fail the Kubota will still be able to move and hyd functions operate. I fail to see the advantages of all the electronically operated functions on new tractors.

Here's a comparison JD vs Orange

JD 5075E Engine (gross): 75 hp [55.9 kW]
Wheelbase: 80.7 inches [204 cm]
Weight: 4634 to 5475 pounds

M7040 Engine (net): 71 hp [52.9 kW]
Wheelbase: 83.1 inches [211 cm]
Weight: 4675 to 5470 pounds

What I was saying is check the tire pressures. Mine came with way to much. Was not comparing machines. Light tractors will always ride rougher than heavy tractors.

I don't know about the M6800, but I've owned a 8540 and 9540, presently own a 105 and 108. They all ride rough because of the short wheel base IMO. I grew up on the JD 3010, 4020, 4320, and 4430. These long, heavy JD's ride much better, but I don't have time to work on them. The Kubota's are bullet proof and are ready to go work when your ready.(and I saved on average $18,000/ tractor going ORANGE)

You bring up all the old JD iron you would have enjoyed what I have been doing. Trying to get ground ready to plant corn, had a 4440 with 24' disc, 4640 with chissel plow, 8430 with 28' disc all running together. It was a pretty cool sight, I wish I could have got some pics.

You stated comparing the M6800 to JD 6420 so I was just clarifying that the weren't in the same CLASS.
