So my wife and are buying a new home on 4.5 acres.

Current owner has a 2012 Kubota BX2360 with 105 hours on it, the 54" fine cut deck, front loader and the front mount snow blower plus a random poly utility cart. It all looks to be immaculate and I think his price seems fair but just wanted to confirm with those more familiar with Kubotas.

He's telling me $12k for everything which I felt was fair assuming no mechanical issues - which he claims is the case. Thoughts from you experts?

Many thanks!

I have the same tractor, FEL, 54" standard MMM, and blower. Love it!

Some guys have complained about the fine cut MMM. I have the standard 54" MMM, and that was by choice. I did not want the 60", but the tractor can run one easily.

Biggest advantage I have found with the '60 series is the height of the ROPS - it WILL fit in a standard 7' garage door. The '70 series does not without folding the ROPS down.

The snow blower alone adds ~$3k+ to the price of a new tractor. After 36" here the other day, I will say it's a great thing to have! You get snow in Pittsburgh, sometimes big...

At only 105 hours, it hasn't been used much.

I would inquire as to it maintenance history, specifically the engine oil/filter and hydraulic/HST fluid/filter changes.

For reality's sake, you can "Build" a BX2370-1 here with same equipment. It will also give you an MSRP. Typical new dealer price is MSRP minus 10% or so, and they often have 0%/60 month financing deals.

Guessing new BX2370 MSRP w/ same stuff would run ~$20k.

If all is well, I'd would likely jump on it! Now, if the snow blower is not important, it may not be what you're after, but I'm sure you could sell it easily for some good $$$...

Good luck!!

Thank you for the reply!

The guy strikes me as a fussbudget so I suspect it has been maintained well but I will confirm with him before taking the plunge.

By the way - perhaps you could tell me what size utility trailer I should be looking for to haul it with (FEL attached) as we have a camp up North and I'd like to be able to use it there too.

Thank you again!

I don't haul mine, but if you use the search function there are many threads on trailers.

Again, the ROPS height was big for me. Kubota has gone back to a shorter ROPS on their new '80 series.

I should state what I always do when it comes to prices; I'm a cheapskate.
This is one that I think is good, if the tractor and implements are straight and right.
Again, the blower/subframe/mid-PTO are big $$$.
I might still offer 11....

I should also note the BX tractors are noted for sticks, barb wire, etc. getting stuck up into the plastic HST cooling fan under the seat and breaking the fins off the fan, rendering it useless.

It's a $20 part that costs nearly $1,000 to have a shop fix.

If you stick your head underneath, above the HST/hydraulic filter on the back axle, you should see an intact white plastic fan above a small guard.

If the fins are gone, it's a big $$ fix.....

I'll try to find a pic... I know I took one for a buddy with a BX....

This is the safeguard if running in the sticks without the MMM on. It's upside down in the picture. The MMM protects the fan for the most part when it's on.

The simple answer is go ahead and buy it. It's not a bad deal by any means. With 100 hours it couldn't have been abused very much, if at all. Even if he didn't do the initial fluid changes at 50 hours it's not a big deal. As stated above, the front mounted blower in itself is a big dollar item. If I were buying your property and the owner was offering it for 12K I'd be all over it. I would however, do as someone above suggested, and see if I could get it for a grand cheaper. No harm in asking. He probably won't have a need for it where he's going and there's a good chance that he just wants to get rid of it rather than move it.
