Plumbing into hydraulic block

I am fairly new to this forum. I recently bought an L2040 front mount blade from CobraTom, a fellow forum member here. You can see it here in post #2 http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5654&highlight=l2040. I'm planning to mount it on my L2250, difficulty I'm having is finding the right fitting to connect the hydraulic hoses to the hydraulic block. My manual lists the part number as 70050-03236 which has 3/8" pipe thread on one end and 16mm tapered metric thread on the other end I believe. My Kubota dealer tells me this part is no longer available. They directed me to Hose Technology, Inc out of London and I was able to pick up a fitting that has the right threads on both ends but the end going into my hydraulic block is not tapered as is the plug currently in the block. I attempted to install this fitting into the block by hand, not wanting to damage anything and met resistance almost right away. The plug will go in almost all the way by finger power without resistance. My question to anyone here who has experience with something similar to my situation is "will I damage my hydraulic block if I attempt to install this male fitting that is not tapered into my block which seems to be tapered?"

I added rear remotes to my L 3000 last year. I went to my buddies hyd shop and he didn't have any trouble matching up everything we needed. All mine were either pipe thread or standard JIC fittings. If you have a hyd shop in your area maybe that would be a good place to start looking for what you need. That way they can fit everything together while it's there.

Thanks for responding Bulldog. I've been talking to my local hydraulics shop and I believe we have it figured out now. I believe I need a fitting with British Standard Pipe Taper thread. I should have them by tomorrow, had our first snow of the season today need to get going on that blade mounting!
