Buttoned or closable with velcro (if possible) front vest pocket. It stays warm in winter, is close to body so vibration can be felt.
Also used 3M Worktunes headset hearing muffs, and now have nice Bose earbuds that active cancel noise from machines etc.

I like the phone pocket on the thigh of Carhartt pants and Key jeans.

Here is what I use on the B3200 flexible and the phone stays in the mount.

I was in our local grocery store the other day and every cart has a spring-loaded phone holder. In the shape of a "V" and when you insert your phone the two halves rotate to capture your phone. If you could find one I believe you would have to put thin strips of rubber inside so the phone wouldn't vibrate out while operating the tractor. I'm not out of sight of the house when I mow, and if I get a phone call that needs attention, my wife just comes out and throws a rock at me.
