Hi, I have a L3901 and just bought the land pride down pressure kit (317-059) after having trouble getting through some clay.
My plan was to get two hoses made up with QD fittings so I could temporarily swap out the bucket tilt function and connect to the hydraulic cylinder. However the kit requires that the "return" line goes directly to the sump from the relief valve.
1) Can I still use one side of the tilt function to pressurize the cylinder, or do I risk damaging the tractor in some way?
2) Is there a spare sump connection or am I going to have to "T" into an existing line?

And a related but separate question, are there alternative cutting tools available for the PD25 that would be better at cutting through hard clay?

Thanks

Keep in mind that if you do use your curl circuit, that on your tractor you will need to use the curl up function, not the dump side.

Yes you need to return to sump directly or TEE into your existing loader return, down on the hydraulic block under the floor board. I would think that there would be a plug in the case some where at the back of the tractor, but I'm not sure.

I imagine that with just the down pressure system you will be good for drilling through the clay. Try it first before you worry to much about changing teeth.

Good luck.;)
