In SDV's series of useful rattlecan paint articles and associated videos, the engine block, transmission housing, axles, 3 pt hitch and other components are painted blue. However, they are painted dark gray on my machine, the same colour as the ROP (I don't think I'm colour blind...). See appended photos. Is gray typical of older B6200 machines (dating to 1991)?

SDV's machine is wonderfully clean in the painting articles & videos. I don't think the guts of my B6200 were ever cleaned prior to my purchase last December. They're mostly covered with grease which I don't think is a problem (keeps the rust away it would seem). PeterA.

Hey PeterA, interesting machine ya got there. I suppose thats an auxiliary Radiator by the seat for winter time heat? have a cab too? are you running that machine without an air filter, hope not?

PS: I wouldn't mind seeing a few more pic's. i.e. the Rad pipeing, etc.

My B5100E is blue and my B7500 HSD is Grey, I think Kubota changed colors over the years, The orange on my two machines are actually different shades also and it is not just a difference from fading from sunlight exposure as you can see a difference even on areas like under the hood etc.

Yes, that's a heating radiator on the left side of the seat. Prior to our purchase, the tractor was used primarily for snow removal. So the cab came with fabric/vinyl walls which I've never used. Unfortunately, the rear vertical supports for the cab are welded onto the wheel mud guards/fenders which could be a pain in the future. SIMS is the name of the cab manufacturer.

No, I have not been running the machine without an air filter. The pic shown in the previous posting showed the old filter which was replaced shortly thereafter.

Here's a few additional pics, two showing the radiator hoses all of which I replaced. Also a pic of the tractor with the BEFCO rototiller. Peter

Hi Peter
Greetings from the Western end of the Canadian dirt.

I have an 84 B6200D not quite as rustry as yours looks like...but not pristine either. I'm in the process of planing to restore it. Full / partial ? or just presentable?... The planning part is to prevent going financially overboard. Once started, I find that undertaking a restoration project is like going down a snake's mouth...there's no turning back. (financially speaking that is)

Are you planning anything similar?

Regards Rob
