Well today after a great morning of coyote ( 2 dead yotes ) hunting my brother informed me that our Oxygen accetylene tourch and bottles were stolen. They were an older set of Victor gauges what I want to know is has anyone used the Harbor frieght tourch and gauges. Im not so sure I want to spend what Victor wants just to use the cutting tourch a few times a year. Have you any exsperence with the cheapper makes if so give me your opinion on them.....Dan

California and Arizona are so alike, crime wise that is! I got one of those HF setups when some wonderful individual decided they needed it more than me!
It worked fine for me, in fact I still have it hanging around as a back up.
The torch is cheap compared to the tanks!

I also got smart and moved to a place where my wolves can eat any wonderful person that tries to steal from me again!:D

No personal experience with the HF torch kits but I've heard positive things about them. You might find another set of victor, Harris, airco, etc on a tool auction or farm auction. I was not paying attention at an auction this summer when a torch set with FULL tanks, cart and hoses sold for $150! I already have a set and didn't need another so I was standing in the shade BS'ing with a guy I know when I heard the bidding stall. I jumped up and tried to bid but some lucky other guy got it. I saw another full set sell for $300 recently with tanks and all.

I don't have any expierence with the HF set yet, but have read a few times that they are clones of the victor w1 series if I remember right. If they turn out to be good, might have to get some tanks and hook up the set I got for a birthday present a few years ago.

just my $.02 worth.
