Old style b6000 steering box repair

I have a b6000 with the worm and sector steering box. I have gotten the bearings for the box, but the upper bearing does not go into the steering tube, and I have no possible idea how to put the bearing in the box before the steering shaft. I don't think the bearing and race will fit over the worm gear. Help!!

What a coincidence!! My steering blew up and just got the parts in to rebuild it.
I did a partial rebuild 3 years ago, but must have missed something cause it did it again.

IIRC, you have to remove the tube from case and slide the bearing over the steering shaft to sit on top of the worm gear. The steering wheel will need to come off to do this.Then the race which sits in the bottom of the tube.

I plan on starting to put mine back together tonight if I don't get sidetracked and will take pictures to document.
