I'm finishing some things up on the rewiring project. I still have a few illusive opens, I'll find them. But here is a question:
The 12v hot from the regulator to the battery connection (at the key switch) is directly connected to 12v positive to the battery (via the starter positive). As in no fuse. Granted the 'alternator' can only make, I think, 8a or so. But if there is a short to ground or some crazy thing, can the regulator be damaged? It may seem a stupid question but since the rig has no over current protection for the alternator/generator circuit FROM THE FAACTORY I'm curious? I could wire in a 10a fuse but at this point its another tear out and the fuse is just another place for problems to happen.
Is it worth it?
