I have an L4400D 4wd am trying to find requirements for adding oil to injector pump housing, what type oil, how much. and can oil level effect pump not pumping fuel.
Also if anyone has an opinion on why I would have fuel at all hoses but still not pumping fuel to injector please help me out,

That's a cassette style pump! It's gets lubrication from the engine oil itself.

Have you bled the injection pump?

Thanks for the reply Pat!
I had gotten confused reading another post about adding oil to injector pump. I reread the manual and noticed the reason for a OIL fill on the side of the injector pump housing.
Bleeding the injector has not worked I have bled numerous other diesel tractors always with good result but this one is a mystery I have yet to resolve. Surely some older, wiser Kubota injector guru has an answer I can only guess about. Still hoping for a clue to solve the problem.
Where is Service Man Vic when you need him?

Vic is still around but rarely. Think of him as more of a Founding Father of this forum.

That being said though there is some awesome knowledgeable folk in here and am sure they will kick in advice soon enough.

Sounds to me you might have a little plug like a chunk or crud orr? that has floated over and sucked down covering the fuel tap leaving the tank. How long has it been since you've changed all the fuel filters?

There should be a bleeder valve on the injection pump. Should be a twist style of some sort. On dad's l2250, you turn the valve after changing the fuel filter. Then crank the engine over till it starts. Let it run for 20 seconds or so, then close the valve. My newer kubota motors in some generator sets have a similar set up.

If your getting fuel into the injection pump and nothing output's, most likely the stop solenoid, unbolt it and find out if it starts. ;)

I have good flow from the tank into and out of the filter bowl and into the bleeder valve but no flow from there. I performed the recommended tasks I opened the bleeder knob clockwise and cranked forever- nothing. I went thru this process several times to include opening the lines from the top of the injector pump - nothing.

Wolfman where is the stop solenoid? Is it at the front of the pump housing? I cannot find a diagram of this injector pump setup anywhere. thanks for the help

Mounted on the front of the gear case.
When you remove it make sure to get the plunger, spring, and the O ring.
Also make sure the manual stop rod is not pulled and stuck engaged, it on the right side under the dash.

Let me conclude this thread with a big howl of thanks to the wolfman, you nailed it that was exactly the problem. I traced the reason for the stop solenoid not working to a 5 amp fuse (the key stop fuse) and now my tractor is back to normal and you saved me a $105/hr service call by local dealer. I think I shall follow your wise advice from another thread and get a complete WSM. Hope you have a great day in the woods I know I will thanks to you.

Another happy forum member. And thats why wolfman gets the big bucks, or rather the high praise for his great advice.
Several good things happened here!

woodhog got his answer from NIW, reported back his findings, and is also getting a WSM for his tractor!

Wolfman - great job as usual! Wish I knew as much as you've forgotten about these machines. You may find something extra in your pay-packet next week!!:D

Well, maybe not...;)
