I need to add some trans/hydraulic oil to my MX6000....
any reason why I should avoid Tractor Supply premium trans hydraulic?
The Kubota UDT2 is a lot more expensive... any real difference? Thx

I wouldn't try to outguess the Kubota engineers. I would stick with Kubota recommendations. Too much at stake IMHO.

Kubota recommends
Premium udt
Sudt2
JD JDM J20D
Case MS 1207 / 1209 / 1210
FNHA 2C 200.00
CNH MAT 3505

Interesting list. I have never seen those specifications in any USA publication. In the USA its strictly SUDT2 and UDT.

There are many products that are functionally equivalent to UDT including Traveler Premium UTTO ftom TSC. Personally I think the enhanced properties of SUDT2 is worth the money in a HST ,machine. Not so much in gear drive machines.

Nope, I wouldn’t use anything except SUDT2 in my MX6000. The machine is far too expensive to take a chance on cheap oil.

Thanks....
Kubota prints this list on their 55 gallon drums of premium udt.
We pay about $1500 a drum here. (27$/gallon)
SUDT2 is not sold in our markets just premium udt

Yeah, thats fair, just curious if most everyone runs their fluid or if its common place to use other brands... thx!
The tractor is full of UDT or UDT2, and I’m not a big fan of mixing fluids.

It might be fine, but it’s not a risk I’d personally take with a machine that expensive. My L2501 is a hell of a lot cheaper, and I still won’t play that game.

I wonder if they consider that a two way equivalence. I would but what do I know 🙃

The FNHA and CNH specs are obsolete and more akin to UDT than SUDT2

I would run my tractor low on fluid before I’d add generic stuff to it.

UDT or better-yet, SUDT2

When I got my 1996 M4700DT to the 600 hr service interval, it called for a complete Hyd fluid change. I found out it left the factory with SUDT (even as far back as ‘96). My local Kubota dealer tried to convince me to install UDT. I told him “No…it came with SUDT…that’s what I’ll replace it with” .
Of course the current version is SUDT2….so that’s what I did. The fluid that was removed looked beautiful…so I stored it in the two empty SUDT2 5-gal pals ….and I’ll use that for “top off” if ever I need to… or use it in some of my other hydraulic equipment.

But this choice is something the ordinary tractor-owner only faces occasionally…. not regularly if he maintains his equipment…. which means using the correct stuff….not some mystery-fluid sold on the cheap.
