Full synthetic "DIESEL" engine oil is fine. The engine oil you buy for your car IS NOT the same as engine oil you get for your tractor. You must get oil rated for diesel engines.

Hydraulic oil is not engine oil or visa versa. Super UDT2 or equivalent for the hydraulic system.

I used Kubota brand diesel engine oil at first, but have switched to the "trusty ole" Rotella 5w-40 synthetic.

The “big questions” are…... What type of hydraulic fluid and grease are you using….

That will determine exactly how many hours of service you will get before it “grenades” itself…...;)

The correct type of air in the tires is the single most important metric regarding tractor longevity.

Also, semi-synthetic blinker fluid for turn signal equipped tractors.

Runs with scissors just had to poke the hornets nest - AGAIN!! And I refuse to get into another debate on the "the best" turn signal fluid. I always lose that one. :ROFLMAO:

new to me 2022 l3302 102 hours, any problems using full synthetic oil? tractor is used only to brush hog pastures
Colby, Bee Positive gave you good and correct advice. As was pointed out, Rotella 5w-40 synthetic diesel oil is used by many on here. Some of the other comments are useless and childish responses to a valid question by someone seeking advice on their new tractor.

I run fully synthetic oil in both Kubota tractors, both Ford trucks and the Kubota generator which all have diesel engines. According to the experts, oil choice and oil change intervals are more important on DPF and EGR equipped engines, and personnally I like 5W-40 from Schaeffer or Mobil 1 given the temperature range where I live, but Rotella and many others are great choices too. Lack of maintenance keeps me up at night, not what brand of oil is in the crankcase.

I don't use conventional engine oil for anything and haven't for years. Even my '98 Jeep TJ has only had fully sythetic oil the entire 25 years I've owned it. There is one exception and that is the new 200hp V6 Yamaha outboard that I bought last year. First oil change is recommended at 20 hours so I figured I'd use Yamaha dyno oil for the break in and then switch to Yamaha fully synthetic at the first service, which is what I did.

I have used Rotella 5W-40 synthetic and Valvoline synthetic diesel oil 5W-40. They are superior to conventional oil. Let the games begin….

The only choice for this is pure nitrogen since 78% nitrogen is so much worse for tires!

But it gives you license to don the green caps on the stems.

For you D&D fans the green caps bestow +5 street cred to your character when traveling outside of combat.
