I tried to change the engine oil in my tractor. Warmed motor 5 minutes.
Removed 228 oz. Oil, oil filter. Then installed new filter and 192 oz. Oil
Let the tractor sit 30min cheked and the oil was high on stick! Checked again
Same thing. I had to remove 64 oz to be right. i'm not sure the level before
The change. New Tractor, never added oil. Any thoughts? Thanks

Did you run it after the change, to fill the filter?

I go by the dip stick, if it shows right, it is right.

How hot was the oil?
How long did you let it drain?
Did you run it after refilling?

All contribute to how much drains out, and consequently how much you put back in.
Oil should be hot and allowed to drain till it stops dripping out the drain hole.
It should also be run after refilling to fill the oil filter.

Not sure about your tractor but my L3830 has 2 drain plugs, because the drive line for the 4wd runs underneath the oil pan so it sets kinda like a saddle over the drive shaft with a drain plug on either side, just saying stranger things have happened.......Dan

That's the same thing I was thinking.

Ditto!

That information is in the Operator Manual as well, if this the case with a MX5100. The wording says "remove drain plug" but the picture shows two of them, at least in my manual.....
