Has anyone else had the steering shaft 🐈 the
Sorry I don't know what the cat is about either! What I was trying to ask is has anyone else had the steering shaft where it attached to the steel gearbox hit the axle and bend the input shaft. I do know how it happened but that is the only thing I can see that could have happened. And I don't really see how that could happen! Now I have a bent input shaft on the power steering gearbox and The parts to repair it are over $1000! Just wondering if anyone else has hat this problem?

Are you taking about this? Pics are worth 1000 words.
Get a WSM. Pressure wash it, pull it off and apart. Input shaft is part of the ball nut (screw) assy. Turn the shaft out of the ball nut as far as you can. Wrap a wet rag around the base, heat the shaft and straighten it. If it survives, replace all the seals and you’re good to go.

Here’s how I fixed my steering overthrow problem. And yes the RF tire did hit the steering shaft and the loader valve. Working perfectly since adding the steering stop almost 5 years ago.


EDIT: If you read post #4 when I tried to buy the used steering box, it had a broken input shaft. Coincidence?… I think not!

It doesn't work that way the input shaft is hollow and has a torsion rod inside! I have the rod straight but the steering is still very hard to turn in spots! And before You ask You can't get the parts to replace just the input shaft. If a I could get the shaft and seals I could fix it! The only way to get the parts is to buy the screw assembly. And that is just over $1000. I have found a couple of used steering assemblies for around $1200. I think that is the way I will go. I just can't understand how it happened!

On mine the control valve is at the other end of the box and the shaft is solid... I’ve repaired a few of this style. I haven’t seen the hollow shaft you have as of yet.
