It splits dry pine very well. We go to our cabin in the mountains where there is an over abundance of deadfall, cut it into 4-6ft lengths, load it on our 18’ flatbed trailer, bring it back, split it, and then cut it into stove lengths anywhere from 10-16”. It’s easier to split the long lengths because they automatically hit the ground with one end while the splitter bores the other end so they don’t get hung up and start rotating. The really nice thing about the jeep is that it has a locking manual throttle on the dash so I can regulate speed and power without having to manipulate the gas pedal. Pretty slick setup as long as you pay attention to what you’re doing. It only really takes about 10 min to set it up with a floor jack and impact socket, pretty quick setup.
