Hello and thank you for making this such a great site.
I've been reading numerous posts and I must say there are an awful lot of smart people in here. I hope someday I may have an answer to a question.
My problem with my L2650DT-7 have me completely stumped. It may be very simple and I may just be overlooking the problem.
Without any attachments or load, my tractor will start and idle with no problem at around 450rpms. I can increase the rpm's to around 1500 before I hear/feel the engine "bog down" and the rpm drops and sometimes the engine dies. When I let up on the gas pedal and let it go back to idle, there's no problem. It idles fine.
I see no excessive smoke (black or white) except during quick acceleration which seem natural.
The fuel is gravity fed and on idle, I see air space about 1/4 inch below the top of the fuel bowl. I don't know if this is normal. I removed and cleaned the bowl and filter. I've never had to "prime" a diesel engine before but I don't think this is the issue. The tractor idles fine.
I've seen posts about air in fuel line. How do you remove this air and how will this affect the running of the engine at higher rpm's?
I've also checked the air filter. I cleaned it and will probably go ahead and replace it.
I'll be replacing the oil filter also.
Is there another filter I need to replace?
Thanks to all!
