I'm wondering what the missing lever is in the attached picture. It almost looks like it'd operate the snowblower raise/lower cylinder, but I don't see any hook ups for that cylinder other than the ones used for the FEL. I'm also not finding any diagrams that label it correctly. The manual I found said it should be the belt buckle, but it is meant for a cylinder based on the diagram. Any help is appreciated!

Maybe an adjustable top link for the three point? Could really be a cylinder anywhere. Obviously it’d need to be plumbed appropriately, I suspect it was an option the original owner did not order. I think the cruise control lever slot is like this (vacant) on the standard Ls, in general.

I believe that it raises and lowers the 3-point hitch. If it is cruise control you desire I have a new old stock one out in the garage that I was going to install in my machine but sold it before I got around to it. If you are interested in it, make me an offer that I can't refuse. thanks, Dusty

Its the slot for the handle on a hydraulic remote valve whivh you do not have. That option should be described in the hydraulics section of your owners manual.

EDIT: after some poking around it looks liie that was an option that never actually made it into production. Nothing in the owners or parts manuals. The rear remotes did not show up until the BX23 series.

Or any other DA hydraulic cylinder or hydraulic motor. I cant find any evidence that valve was ever actually available.

When the BX23xx was introduced the fender was redesigned with two slots and you coulld order a two spool valve and outlets to match.

Right. It was available on the BX2380 when I was looking at that model. When I went the direction of the BX23S, a "factory" option is not available due to the BH and BH Sub-Frame.

If it's not used then I might retro fit that slot to control the cylinder on the snowblower instead of using the 4-way valve for the FEL since the valve comes off with the FEL. Thanks everyone!

I'm thinking of putting a two way valve there that connects to the main hydraulic lines for the FEL, then run it to the front for the blower. I'm not going to connect any levers to the gear box or existing valve if that's what you were wondering.

That was one of the quirky things about the first BX tractors. They came with 2 different loader valves, and you had to specify which one you wanted. If you were going to have a front-mounted snowblower, you needed a different loader valve than was normally supplied, at an extra cost. Since the loader valve was attached to the right-hand upper stantion, it came off with the loader, and then you had to remove it from the loader and put the upright with the valve back on the tractor for winter snowblower use. All t; that was corrected with the next version of the BX tractor, the BX23 series introduced around 2004 or 2005. I had a BX22, and that was the one thing that I hated about that tractor, as I aged, it became increasingly more difficult to remove and reinstall that upright and valve. so I sold that tractor and bought a BX23S which was light years ahead of the old BX22. The only thing that I liked better about the BX22 vs the BX23S, is that the BX would idle at 600 RPM and the BX23S idles at 1200 RPM.

Thar is not what i was wondering.

Plumbing in a vakve or even multiple valves is easy

What I am wondering is how are you planning on using that fendet guide slot with your addon valve.

I'm going to buy a lever similar to the others in the other slots and attach it to the valve. That way it looks the same but controls what I want.
