I've done a ton of research as to brands and quality. Also, I know what I need for what I am doing.

- Rotary Tiller
- Bush Hog
- Land Plane or Box Blade (at first I thought Box Blade but my dirt is loose and having that Tiller makes me think I could benefit more from a true leveler that also has the shanks - help me here as well).

Love the Everything Attachments offerings. Their Box Blade is what drew me to them, but I honestly think I'd rather have the Leveler and their leveler gets pricey compared to...

Dirt Dog. I really like their attachments as well. All similarly priced - enough that, with the exception of saving $1K on a Land Plane with Dirt Dog, it all comes pretty close.

Of those two manufacturers, and those implements, does anyone have any experience/advice that would help my decision? They are American made and look to be of high quality. And/or should I be sticking to name brands like Woods, Maschio, Bush Hog (there RTG60 looks like a great deal/high quality) or Rhino (I've eliminated Land Pride and Titan based on my research)?

Also, I can handle 60 or 72 inch. Thoughts on best sizing by attachment above?

Thanks in Advance.

Suggest you look at Craigslist or Facebook marketplace to keep costs down. Have bought only 2 new attachments for my 1880. The rest are used in good condition. I look every day on Craigslist to see what’s been posted.

Definitely 72 inch or larger for the grand L's. If i did it over again I'd probably go 84 inch. But at least 72 covers the tracks of the tires.

The land plane made a world of difference on our driveway. It's just short of a 1/4 mile full of 610 limestone.

I have a huge problem with water runoff being that everything angles down towards our house.

But the way the land plane would pick up all the uneven stone and lay it back perfectly flat was incomparable to my box blade.

My only problem was everytime i'd do it, a gully washer would come about, the limestone wouldn't be compacted yet, and would end up washing into my front yard.

On the other hand, when the drive would be fairly compacted in our dry times, only the box blade with the scarifiers down atleast one notch, would pick the stones up enough to lay everything back down evenly.

Depending on your situation, maybe have both on hand to get it how you seem fit.

It’s kind of a tough call since I have never actaully used a Land Plane, so my opinion is not based on actual experience.

I have a Box Blade, but if I could “do it over” I would probably get a Land Plane, but my “main use” is for my gravel driveway, not moving dirt.

One thing that I will say about the “shanks” is to be careful. I used them one time on my driveway and all it did was dig up a crap load of “ankle breaker” sized stones. I have been picking them up for months now.

All I see is one of 3 things. 1) slightly used quality at only a slight to no real price difference than new 2) Chinese stuff - new or used either one - at 30%-50% less than known brands - that just doesn’t fit my desire for USA made quality or 3) very worn quality name at still 2/3 the price of new, and 9 times out of 10, if it’s sold used, something is not or is about to not be working.
Appreciate your input. I do think that works great for a more seasoned and able operator 👍.

Good day.

I don’t think anyone knows your situation but you.

with that said:

0. Both brands you are considering make quality implements.

1. When I compare implements, i look at weight / dollar first, then quality of weld and paint (assuming similar construction and functionality)

2. I’d want to cover my tracks by a couple inches per side (minimum). In the case of the cutter, I got what just barely Covered my tracks because my concern or relocating fence posts and corner of barns. In hindsight I wish I would have gone wider to take a bigger cut in the pasture. When I originally bought it was clearing and maintaining trails. Then I got another property with a pasture.

3. I have several EA implements and I believe they have a poorer paint application than Landpride (I understood not looking at LP). When I have priced Bush Hog brand (not sure your mention was a brand or a generic implement is what I am working / mentioning this way), their implements seem to be priced a bit higher for similar weight and heft of construction. (BH have multiple grades so I’d be cause to compare apples to apples…Dirt dog also has multiple grades)…check the paint on some older implements to see how holds up if it matters to you)

as far as the cutter, if plan to park it outside, I would look at how it sheds water/debris…some have smooth top frame under and some have channel top with frame on top…if that matters to you.

4. Look at where the grease points are and ease of maintenance on w you are considering.

5. For your cutter, at least in my case I got the guards and chains…something to consider as well. The chains reduce / knock down debris where using…the guard will need some loving from time to time if using aggressively…but that will protect your deck if not too happy with the throttle. If no guard the deck is going to take the brunt of it when backing into / over saplings and small trees. I would be worried without the guard you could dent/roll edge of the deck into the swing blade. Just something to think about IMO.

6. Do both implements you are considering come with PTO shaft? (I assume so, but if not that is an extra cost of purchase when comparing).

7. Parts availability (if you will want someone to service for you maybe that is a thought as well)

those are the main things I would be considering regardless of brand.

I hope this helps. Happy shopping. 👍

My 2 cents.

Brush cutter: I have the 60" King Kutter brand for my LX2610. I am very happy with it. USA made. Robust. I think I paid about $1,200 for it brand new from box store - Farm Fleet about 3 years ago. Almost too big for my tractor.

Your much larger tractor should be able to handle the 72" model. Today on Farm Fleet website the 72" is listed at $1,999. IDK what prices you are seeing on other brands, but when I bought mine it was a lot less than a Land Pride.

I also have the King Kitter 3pt rear blade. Robust. No issues. I use it for snow.
