I am a new member-my first post, but have read posts in the past. Original owner of a Kubota T1560a with 40” deck. Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter replacement each year, replaced the large deck belt & blades both 1X, and sharpen the blades each year. Use it about 15 hours per year; kept in a shed. We planted some Raspberry bushes a few years ago…great berries….but they spread like weeds…and the thorns puncture the 20”x10”-8” OEM Titan Multi Trac C/S 2-Ply rear tires. I tried to patch it with a tire ‘plug’ kit…first time it worked well, but second time have a very slow leak.
Questions:
1. Some online articles & posts state that a different type of ‘plug’ patch and inside tire ‘patch’ patch must be used….chemical vs heat curing (on a highway tire)…is this true?
Or will any ‘plug’ patch and inside tire patch work?
Suggestions?
2. The tires treads seem OK, obviously the tires are ~25 years old. Was thinking about putting tubes in the tubeless tires… but then thought about the configuration of typical tube & valves-slightly offset at best. (Tires are 20”x10”-8”) would a JS2 valve (hand bendable schrader valve) be needed or use a typical schrader valve?
If regular valve, one with a metal nut to hold the valve in place?
Will a rubber grommet be needed too? (Existing has a tubeless valve stem).
The only JS2 valve tube(1” valve offset; 1.3” long valve) I found is a 20” x 8“-10” to 20” x 10”-10” Firestone lawn tube #551-252.…will this fit a 8” rim—-or will it be too big?
Suggestions for tubes?

4. Tire suggestion (If I need to replace…). Any large difference between ‘generic’ imported tires and Carlisle branded tires (‘if they are made in the US, that would be a plus to me).
Difference between 2 ply and 4 ply…guessing the more the ply #, the tougher and stronger the tire (and harsher ride)?
Any suggestions for tires?

****does increasing the ply #, from 2 ply to 4 ply, make installing the tire MUCH more difficult? I did buy a HF mini tire changer gizmo, and 2 long HF tire levers…have not taken it out of the box yet. Have viewed many online videos on using it…many cons…some pros—sturdy mounting seems to help in successful use.
5. Was thinking about just using some Slime, either the Tire product, or their ”2 in 1” product (which is much cheaper in price!). But while it will likely work, there is something which is giving me an uneasy feeling….like using it is not the correct way of fixing this issue.
