What is not doing? Sometimes you really need to push down on the lock to get it in and the wheels need to move a bit. The diff lock is only for a breif time only to get you out of a traction slip not all the time operation.
It is easy to push the pedal. I have lost traction several time with the rear wheels and have attempted several time to engage the lockup with no luck. I have had others try as well.
