I'm a newbie to this forum and kubota tractors. I just bought a B6000E. I don't think it is a grey market. I found a 3 ft brush hog for it but the hydraulic lift will not pick it up. I can stand on the Lift arms and it will pick me up with no problem (220 lbs). I had my son stand on the arms with me and it would not pick us up (400 lbs). It would pick up one side of the bush hog about an inch but not the other side. Twice after many, many attempts it picked up the bush hog when I was pushing down on the side that was raised off the ground. It only happened twice and I can't get it to raise the deck again. I've taken the hydrualic piston out and replaced the orings. No improvement. I've raised the back of the bush hog deck with my fork lift and was able to raise the front of the deck if I helped the hydrualics by lifting the front of the deck. Without support from the fork lift it would hold the deck up in the air but if I moved the control lever up or down the deck would come down.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Not sure what the lift capacity is on that machine but I would think it should pick up 400 lbs. Have you checked the fluid level? Could be a filter or strainer about plugged up. Try to eliminate the easy stuff first. Maybe you will get lucky and it will be something simple.

Bulldog,
I should have mentioned that I changed the oil using the recomended Kubota oil.
There was no filter where the filter should be. I've ordered a new one but right now it doesn't have a filter. Since posting this I've adjusted the lifting arms so that both arms are equally pulling on the deck. This has helped as I don't have to pull as hard on the front of the deck to get the front of the deck to come off the ground but it still won't lift the entire deck off the ground.
Thanks,

When you try to lift the deck up does the hyd system make a noise like a relief valve is open letting the fluid bypass? My old B7100 would make kind of a squeeling noise when it got maxxed out.

There is no unusual noise when trying to lift the deck. What I find strange is that when I have the lift lever pulled I can lift the front of the deck off the floor to where it is level with the tail wheel (about 2" above the floor) by pulling up on the deck by hand. With the deck up and the lift lever in neutral I can stand on the deck and it will not go down. But with the deck raised if I pull the lever back in the lift position I can put one foot on the deck and it will go down???

That makes sense to me. I use to carry firewood with my B7100. A few times I loaded it to heavy and it wouldn't pick up the load. I could hold the lift in the raise position and lift the front tires off the ground with the loader. When I got it lifted up the 3pt would hold the weight fine. If I hit the lift handle it would drop the load. I know mine wouldn't pick up a 1000lb backhoe. Not sure what it would lift but that was way more than it could handle. It would lift a 4 ft bushhog up without any trouble though. Do you have any idea how heavy your bushhog is?

I don't know what it weighs but twice the hydraulic system picked it up to the maximum height quickly without hesitation.
If I had to guess I would say it weighs about 300 lbs

My 6000 will pickup 300lb at the end of a boom pole but, 2 fingers will lift the front tires off the ground. It is a DT though. So, it is a little heavier in the front.

Just piecing all this together. It lifted the bushhog up 2 times, was this before or after you changed the oil?

Re: Need help with PTO hydrualics. Problem Solved!

Bulldog,
To answer your question, after changing the oil, o rings on the piston, adjusting the 3 point hitch attachments, and a new filter the tractor would not lift the mower deck. After many unsuccessful attempts at raising the deck I kicked the mower deck and twice this worked and the deck came up.

This morning I took the control valve assembly off the tractor. I took it completely apart. I didn't see anything wrong with it but I replaced the o rings. There are two pieces that screw into the valve housing that may have been dirty or not adjusted properly. I don't have a drawing or work shop manual so I can't say the correct name for these parts. After putting it all back together it works great. Raises the deck quickly and without any strain. I can't say for sure exactly what the problem was but it deffinately was in the control valve. Even without a manual or drawing it is not a difficult job. It took me less than an hour to do. Of course I spent two days taking everything else apart trying to locate the problem.

Glad to hear you have it fixed. Sorry not to have been much help on this one. Maybe it will work trouble free for a long while.
