Hi,
I have a Kubota 3cyl, D722. The fuel shut off stopped actuating. I've checked fuses, relays, cleaned connections. I bench tested the solenoid and it works. I even replaced the solenoid with a new one...

The funny thing is if I push the solenoid in manually it locks to the open position and I can start the machine.

Has anyone an idea of why the solenoid will hold if I manually push it in? It does release correctly when power is removed.

Because there is 2 signals to that solenoid, one is pull in, one is hold.
Your getting the hold signal, just not the pull in signal.
On most of these it's feed from either the key on the same wire as crank,
or it's from the extra wire off the starter.

Ah, I see. I did pull the key cylynder out to see if any connection were loose or broken, didn't see any. I do recall the solenoid would pull as you say, when I turn the key to accessory while I get the beep beep from the glowplugs, prior to cranking. Can I assume the signal is not from the starter on this since it always pulled prior to cranking... (if any of that makes sense). thanks

Do you have the wiring diagram for the equipment that it's in?
