 considering all the guards on all of the rest of the pto hookups I was surprised to find on my new front mounted snowblower that there is a long stretch of stainless steel shaft ending in a naked spline that connects the mid pto to the snow blower. Seems odd to me, I looked in the parts diagram in the manual and didn't see a cover (could have missed it). That piece is not very far from the ground and it would be easy to run over something and damage the splines or pick up baling twine or something on that spinning shaft. Can this be right? B2782B Kubota blower on B2650.

Sheepfarmer, this is your snowblower pto shaft right? The snowblower will probably gobble up anything before it gets to the pto shaft. I would be out there now making sure the area is clean!

Yes you read my mind about removing everything in the driveways etc, but I was going to put my landscape rake on it so I could rake and spread manure piles in the pasture this fall ( for the one remaining week of it? ) Looking for something for it to do to break in the engine before I hit it with PTO rpms, and also the fewer piles of frozen horse manure to hit with the snow blower the better. Just hope I don't run over something while doing that.
