My wife finally gave me the go ahead to buy a new tractor...we were outgrowing our 2002 Bx1500 in the expansion of our Hobby farm. Went from a 20x20 garden to a 32x40 fenced + overflow for corn and pumpkins, with chickens, compost bins, and a farm stand coming. We've got 3 acres of apples trees we harvest deer apples from. She told me to order whatever I needed to get it done right. Haha! I wasn't going to ask for clarification
Decided on a BX2680 vs 70 series for the easy-on loader. Love the hydraulic valve block. Don't need the cruise control, but the gauges on the 80 are nicer than the 70. Hydro filter is still underbelly but up high.
Got an LA344 loader (non S model)
HD 55" snow blower with 4 way hydro instead of just 2 way with manual chute.
Also a 50" Land Pride rototiller which is incredible.
Woods 3.5 brush hog
A landscape rake from TSC because I couldn't beat the price at $429
Only things I need to do are get a piranha blade for the loader bucket, perhaps some Bolt on forks just for moving implements and pallets of deer apples in the yard, and a soft sided cab (hopefully someone makes one by winter for the 80) for snow removal. Need to be careful I can still get through the garage door with the cab on.
What an enormous step up from my BX1500. I've put 5 hours on it in just a couple of days. Tons tons tons more power, much stronger loader, higher 3pt, smooth idle, etc etc. I considered a B series, but am 100% glad I got a BX, as it seems a perfect fit for our needs.
Incredible trade in on the BX1500, $1000 off the new one, 0% for 84 months. It was a no brainer and made buying new versus used a smart choice.
