My new B2650

My friend and I own property in the country across the street from each other and decided to split the cost of a tractor. We will use it to mostly cut grass and do light chores around our properties.

We bought a B2650 with a 60" pull behind finish mower along with a FEL and forward tined tiller for some light food plot work.

I've done a ton of landscaping in my life but never with a tractor. I'm pretty excited to hop on it and play around. We are having it delivered this Monday at our properties.

We looked at the L series as well but decided on the B since we are mostly cutting grass and we were worried about too heavy a machine rutting up our ground. Space to store it was also a consideration as well.

Anyways, what do most of you do with the FEL when cutting grass?? Do you leave it on, just remove the bucket or take the whole thing off?? Just wondering what made most sense.

I have ab2601 with 60"drive over deck and fel when i mow I take the fel off . After a couple of practices it's become second nature. Safer and smoother ride with fel off.

I have a B3350 CAB basically the same as a B2650, 5 ft rear finishing mower, I have the smaller 54 inch pin on bucket ( not quick disconnect), the bucket never gets in my way I leave it on all the time. If i do get in a tight place I just raise the FEL up, no problem.

I used to mow with my old BX1500 with a 48" MMM and FEL, and because it was a hassle installing/removing the FEL, I always left it on.........but it slowed me down considerably having it on there. I'd recommend removing the FEL when you're mowing if you're able to.

Congrats on the new machine! Haven't had a chance to mow with mine yet so don't know if I will leave it on or remove it. On my other machine I just left it on. I have lots of room where I mow so it doesn't really matter. They are great machines.

I don't find the FEL all that hard to remove and put on... so I take it off. I found if you want to trim close to trees or under bushes it is easier without the FEL in the way (and you can get closer). With it on, you have to turn away from the tree sooner so it leaves more uncut around the tree. That is with a B2320 which is smaller - yours would be worse.

I leave mine on when I mow, but only because I always use it for something every time I have the tractor out. Even when mowing if I come upon a fallen branch I just throw it in the bucket. If mine had a ss quick attach I would maybe drop the bucket, but maybe not?

It doesn't tear my turf up. But as conropl said above...you can't get as close to things with it on.
