MX5800 code questions

I have a MX5800 that is throwing two codes. The codes are P0563 and P3008. I have done a search and didn't come up with anything for the P0563. On the P3008 I seen two responses. One says cam shaft position sensor and the other says replace dpf. Curious which of the two it may be and if it is the cam shaft postion sensor where is it located on the engine. Any help with these two codes would be apprecitated.

I am working from a table of error codes, and no direct experience, so hopefully someone who's worked on one will log on. In the meantime, PO563 is triggered when the ECU (computer controlling engine) sees a battery voltage above 16V in a 12V system. It says that trigger is an electrical problem in wiring harness or faulty battery. Problem is it then stops the EGR and there will be worsening exhaust gas performance.

P3008 is the code it throws when the PM particulate matter reaches level 5. Did you by chance get the first code and then continue to run the tractor? Did it ask to regenerate?

Level 5 is not a good spot to be in, don't run your tractor, yes it suggests that a manual regen was not done when it was needed, and now you might need a new dpf filter. At least get it to a dealer to have the computer checked out first. Hopefully if they can solve the first problem, they may be able to trigger a regen from their computer and all will be well. Please let us know how it comes out.

Alternator voltage regulator could be failing. Or could be wiring issue or ECU issue causing PO563.

P3008 is not good. Fix #1 first (PO563) and clear the codes and see if 3008 comes back. My bet is that it will and if that's the case, the DPF will have to be removed and either baked professionally or replaced.

Have a good look at the wiring up top of the engine, specifically around the DPF pressure differential sensors and also the alternator wiring for any rodent damage. Wouldn't be the first one I've seen like that.

Thanks for the replies. I do not personally operate the tractor It is owned by the company I work for and I was asked to take a look at it. I had found some information on the P0563 code yesterday and tested the voltage which was 14.3 volts. We originally thought there was an issue with the dpf but thought it would show the light for the dpf plus the code and engine light if that were the issue. The tractor has 607 hours on it and i think the person operating it probably turns on the inhibit as soon as the get on the tractor everyday. Have no way of proving this but I think it is the cause. Anybody have any estimates on the cost of a new dpf. Our local dealer has told us that if we buy a new dpf we will have to bring it in for them to enter the number off the new dpf into the computer. We would rather have it baked but was not sure how successful that would be. Again I appreciate the help.

Should be 100% successful, they do them all the time, it's a pretty simple procedure.

Then after you get it back get a second inhibit switch, put it in an very inaccessible location.
Then wire up the original inhibit switch to trigger the horn or a flashing light, that will let you know when it's being pressed. ;)

Haha that might be a plan. If I send it to be baked will it have to go to the dealer to clear the code or will it clear after operating like it should.

Deduct the baking fee from the operator's pay.

Pretty sure you will have to take it in, there are numbers in the ECU that have to be reset. Depending on when that tractor was bought, the emissions control parts are covered by warranty for 5 years, so you might get a dpf out of it. They might not be covered if neglect is involved, however. It is worth taking it in for an estimate at least.
