Wanted one for a while. Not sure why now, but do know they have lotsa uses that I'm now going to learn. (Better than the BZZZ test with your fingers)

Done quite a bit of home, auto wiring over the years.

Now that I got one, realized I know a lot less than my wife I thought I did.

I might ask for your expertise later.

Very nice I grew up with Simpsons and Flukes. What did that little beauty run you?

Thats a pretty good meter got the same one for the house. Got sick and tired of having to bring one home from work when ever I needed one.

Did you get the set with the outlet tester and power probe?

Most of your needs with it will be either ac or dc voltage and the continuity tester/ beeper. It's nice to be able to test resistance at times. I do it so little that I either have to ask someone or google how to do it

Most of my life i have been using bargain type meters. Last year i bought a nice one from snap- on. Very happy with it. 12 volt stuff i have a power probe3 and a circuit tracer. Best tools for troubleshooting.

It was $25 or $30 at Lowes, and came with power probe and outlet tester, too.

I'll definitely need to brush up on basic electrical principles!

I've had one for over 30 years that I built as a kit. Don't know what I would do without it.

I have had a Fluke, 8024A, for 40 years. I had to replace the LCD display once and Fluke sent it to me for free.

Did some "How to" searches on the internet.

Now wish I had one a while ago. Could have used one many times over the years....

I use a fluke 117. It will handle most things. No good for electronics though. The fluke 336 is probably the best handyman meter. Its an amp clamp so easy current measurement. Its expensive but the right tool for starter/charging issues.
