Mowing with mmm

While mowing with mmm does anyone who leaves their fel on also leave their ballist box on ?

It depends on what your mowing. Most people take everything off when mowing, just because it makes getting around stuff a lot easier. It only takes a couple to put the FEL back on when you need it and the weight box same thing. If your going to mow with the FEL on remember to keep it as low as you can. In MHO take everything you dont need off

I leave the FEL on.. partly for not going through the hassle of taking it off, but also use the bucket for debris, bush trimmings, etc. I do have to be extremely careful in a few areas where I'm close to the house.. Bucket is down all the time on the slopes, but I have areas where goes all the way up so the front end can get close to fences, bushes, etc.

My ballast weight on the rear is the rear bagger assembly, plus other items back there that add substantial weight.

I'm with Dandeman......I leave my loader on all the time as I use it all the time. And like him it is useful for picking up the many branches I find when mowing.

I have no ballast box, only use my rear implements....so I do take those off when mowing.

I have done it both ways in the past but now that I have a quick attach I take the bucket off but leave the loader arms on. Since I have two buckets, one the regular loader and the other a rock bucket, I have to change buckets often for different tasks anyway. So, these days I seldom have a bucket on when mowing.

I use them with a wrap around rope or chain to pick up logs too big to get in the bucket.. the two on the back are oriented for the rope to go down underneath the bucket and under for example a large log and then back up to one hook centered on top of the bucket and then down underneath the log again on the other side hook..

This arrangement keeps the load centered directly underneath the bucket so it doesn't lessen the lifting capability by the load being further forward.

It's just the way I thought about putting them on, before I saw other methods in this forum.... Haven't found any down sides...

For me it depends on how busy the moles have been. I will use the FEL to flatten the mounds out so the mmm does't have to plow them flat.
