Do any b2601 owners mow with the mmm in the lock position . Any problems or issues? Thanks

Re: Search thread not working , so I'll ask a question

On B2601 is it ok to cut grass with mmm locked in top position
Steve - I'm gonna go out on a limb, and say that I would expect Kubota would not allow the pto to bind with the mmm up that high - that would be a design flaw that someone would end up doing without thinking. As long as the PTO compresses to that short of a length, it should be fine.

I have used my B and BX with the mmm all the way up, the pto would be the only culprit to worry about. That is what a theoretical 4" grass height?:)

I am in the process of purchasing a B2601 package with 60 in mmm. My concern has been the fixed/suspended deck design, I'm replacing a L2250 with ground contact deck I've had for 31 years. Most Kubotas are suspended decks now, B2650 is still ground contact, no mmm pto on L series now. I'm told you set the dial and go, only contact are anti scalp wheels but they are NOT designed to carry the beating a ground contact takes. You lift it to trave and lower it to whatever you set it at. I am not sure but wonder if the cut results are different.

I just lock my mower all the way up, then set the height control knob and lower to that height. I like the way mine mows but have never used a ground contact mower.

I do it all the time when on uneven ground with big rocks.
