Kubota z121s - I was mowing the other day and felt like the mower was just running really rough. Anytime I’d get into something thick the engine would almost die like it maybe wasn’t getting enough fuel? I took a break, and then when I started it back it ran for a couple seconds and then just died. After that, turning the key produced no response. Just a single click. I then tried touching the posts of the starter solenoid to jump it that way and it cranked but would never actually start. I checked the fuses and one was blown, after replacing it I tried to start it and turning the key still did nothing but it blew the fuse I had just put in. Would appreciate anyone who can steer me in the right direction!

Follow what is connected to that fuse. Something behind it is faulty or a wire shorted tonthe frame and causing it to blow.

Does the operators manual tell you what is connected to that fuse? Or do you have schematics or a work shop manual?

What may be useful for trouble shooting a hard short and not blowing hundreds of fuses in the process is connecting an incandescent light bulb instead of the fuse. Use a bulb that has similar wattage or smaller as the fuse so that the cables are protected, i.e. if it is a 10A fuse use a 12V 100W bulb, but not critical (12V x 10A = 120W). This way you can disconnect circuits behind the fuse, switch on the ignition and see if bulb lights with full brightness. Short still present then.

the fuse protects the circuit from overloading the wiring in that circuit

you have an overloaded circuit causing the fuse to blow, which keeps the wires from getting burnt up.

that circuit is where the problem lies. Check all your wirings and how they're routed. Probably find one pinched, burnt, etc
