Moving ZD326 ZTR diesel engine for greasing the engine drive shaft?

I've been going over and greasing all the joints on my ZD326 and found the three grease fittings on the engine drive shaft. They can only accessed/greased while the drive shaft is pointing the fittings almost straight down. I can't turn the shaft by hand. Turning the engine works, but's it's a "lower ZTR, turn, raise, lower, turn, raise, lower, turn...." type operation and doean't work very well.

What is the safe way to turn the engine so I can index the shaft so I can grease those three fittings?

The ZD326 has the Kubota 326 diesel engine. Same engine that's in my RTV.

It's a D1005 ;)

If I remember correctly you should be able to turn the flywheel to turn the engine to get the shafts to line up.
