So I am bored and thinking that I want to cut tire lanes to gravel in my favorite farm pasture paths. Im envisioning just two 18" wide tire tracks of gravel. I think i want to cut about 6" deep just get under the grass and make a good gravel depth.
Could I fab up a stump bucket with a ramp to attach to my front bucket? It would bolt or such to the bucket and the 6" of dirt will be ramped up into loader bucket? Set so the bucket cannot help dig just carry and limit depth. Or would that really strain the bucket?
If bucket would not work could the same plan, But on a ssqa plate work? Put on a Lil diverter to push the dirt to the side and scoop it later. Diy fab stumpbucket with mods?
Thanks I hope you put your boredom to better use than I do!

I don't think it's a good idea.

Think about how you will maintain the gravel. In other words, next you will need a super narrow land plane, box blade, or rake.

Interesting.... My first thought envisioned a shallow, short, the width you want ..scoop.. that mounts to something like a FEL pallet fork back frame...
But then like said, maintaining this kind of ...path... may be a problem.. If it needs much or any maintaining at all.. ??

Give it a try, do a ..test.. area and report back.. Good luck..
